‘Homeland is Racist’: Graffiti Artists ‘Bomb’ Award-Winning TV Show

Three street artists took a stab at the American TV-series Homeland when they were hired to paint ‘Arab graffiti’ on a film set for the show. Instead, they ‘bombed’ the show, writing slogans dissing the award-winning series. Nobody noticed and the episode was aired with the graffiti in full view.

Egypt Witnesses a Steep Rise in Vegetable Prices

Vegetables prices in Egypt have seen a steep rise over the past couple of days, Egyptian independent newspaper El Watan reports.
Before the Eid El-Adha holiday at the end of September the cost of a kilo of tomatoes was three to four Egyptian pounds ($US 0.38-0.51). Now it varies between EGP 12 to 14 ($US 1.35-1.79), a price hike El Watan labels ‘insanely high’.

Article on Egyptian Streets: 'Homosexuality in Egypt: Lives Ruined Between Allegations and Confessions'

In a garage behind a row of parked cars sleeps Mostafa near a pile of litter left behind by a street dog and its newborn puppies.
A couple of dusty blankets and pieces of cardboard serve as his bed. He earns his money as a parking attendant, shoe shiner and handyman; anything that will make him a few pounds.
A little over a year ago, the 25 year old university graduate was living with his parents in a working class neighborhood in Cairo. He worked as a salesman in an electronics shop and spent his weekends with his friends at the local tea-house.

Alsjeblieft, haal me hier vandaan."
Mohammed was twintig jaar oud.
